WOD: 12-12-2009

Linda posted yesterday that since her birthday was imminent she wished to pick a workout, something easier perhaps.  I didn’t want to put her under any undue pressure from the other athletes and so felt the best solution was……

LINDA

Deadlift (1.5 body weight)

Bench Press (body weight)

Clean .75 (body weight)

Result:  No one is ever going to forget Linda’s birthday.

    Tim, Jim, Brad, I AM SOOOOO SOOOOORRRRRYYYYYY! I have learned and will keep my yap shut next year. I made it through with 45# cleans, 95# deadlifts and assisted push ups in place of bench press. I did all 10 rounds in 15:?? minutes, but as the day goes on parts of my body are really “talking” to me. My WOD tomorrow will definately be “do nothings”. Way to go guys for pushing through and showing me what warriors you are. Thanks for the great send of of yr 44 and hoping for a fit’er, stronger yr 45. 🙂

    Linda, Happy Birthday! I am so sorry I missed your special workout……….I chose the “hhmmmm, what should I get at Panera?” workout with my husband for his birthday! I’m sure I’ll pay for it Monday. Hopefully Matt won’t read this 🙂

    Don’t apologize Linda, I’ve wanted to do ‘Linda’ for ages!
    After doing the math I did :
    1.1xBW on the DeadLifts
    0.5BW on Bench (Ring Push Ups)
    0.66BW on Cleans
    Time was 20:00.

    In hind site, I could have gone heavier on the Deads & Bench. I was pretty tapped on the Cleans but that was a technique thing.
    GREAT WOD, I look forward to doing it again!

    I thought it was pretty cool to honor Linda’s birthday. And no apologies necessary, we need to do these heavy/hard wods periodically.

    My numbers –
    DL @ 1.28 BW
    BP @ 0.5
    Cleans @ 0.77

    Here’s the difference between working out on one’s own, and being “inspired” by a crossfit coach and community. I attempted Linda once before at same weights (except used full BW BP) but scaled reps to 10-8-6-4-2. Time was over 30 minutes.
