FRIDAY and SATURDAY

THE SILVERBACK BUFFET IS ON FOR FRIDAY:  Get in and tackle that WOD that you missed (we do encourage a day off during the week) or for the real gluttons we have the “Bonus” WOD.

There are easier ways to get your vitamins and fibre; eat a vegan!

SATURDAY:  There is a whole bunch of Silverbacks AND COACHES headed down to CF Pearland for the Slaybell [sic] Challenge!  So we will be closing the doors Saturday morning to support the troops.   BLOCK OUT YOUR CALENDAR FOR OUR CHRISTMAS WORKOUT AND PARTY NEXT SATURDAY (8TH)!

    I have an outstanding I.O.U. to Fish and a couple of Marks out there. So, I have pasted links to some Mobility WOD videos which will target some of the lower leg (plantar fascia, Achilles, Soleus, and Gastrocnemius) “hot spots” folks have been having. Not having any lower leg stiffness/soreness? Do this stuff anyway. We pound our lower legs on a daily basis in the Silverback Nation. Therefore, taking care of our connective tissues in that region is paramount. In addition, greater range of motion in the ankle will without question make OHS, Front Squats, Full Cleans, Snatches, Deadlifts, etc so much easier. Consequently you will hit bigger 1 & 3 RMs or increase your work capacity in a given WOD simply by improving your range of motion (ROM).

    So here are a few videos that I’ve seen on http://www.mobilitywod.com. Kelley Starrett is solid and has all of the education/certification to speak as a subject matter expert. Not to mention the fact that he is funny as all get out (Had to put a “redneck-ism” in there somewhere).
