<p><strong>How did you get into CrossFit? </strong>In 2012, Lululemon was doing free CrossFit classes for their community workouts one month and I did those. As a former gymnast and group exercise junky at the gym I fell in love with the mix of heavy weights and gymnastics movements. I visited a few different CrossFit boxes with friends over the next couple months and ended up joining Silverback.</p>



<p><strong>Favorite movement or WOD? </strong>Anything with a heavy barbell. I love bench press and the workout DT (deadlift-hang clean-shoulder to overhead).</p>



<p><strong>Why have you stuck around so long?</strong> I love that everything is laid out for me each day and that it’s always changing. Some days I love it and others I hate it but I always come back for more.</p>



<p><strong>Fun fact people don’t know about you? </strong>I was a cheerleader all through junior high and high school.</p>



<p><strong>What are you most excited about as a coach at CFSB?</strong> I’m looking forward to meeting more of the members that I don’t normally see and being able to help people progress in their CrossFit journey. Maybe one day I can help someone hit a new pr or get a new skill.</p>

<li>How long have you been doing CrossFit and how it has changed your life? I have been doing CrossFit since 2012. CrossFit has given me strength and endurance I did not think I would have at my age. The workouts and training have helped me develop mental resilience that have translated into other aspects of my life. CrossFit has been a great way to push myself out of my comfort zone and continually learn new skills and is a great stress reliever at the same time. Awareness and importance of nutrition is something I have become more aware of since making good choices is what helps fuel our bodies to do all these fun and exciting workouts.</li>

My passion for years was running, and I still enjoy going for a jog listening to some great tunes. You will find me with a book at every opportunity that I get. </li>
<li>Favorite cheat food? Charcuterie boards and they must have Brie!</li>
<li>How long have you been doing CrossFit and how it has changed your life? I joined CrossFit Silverback back in 2013. I was a mom to a nearly 3-year-old struggling with my weight and energy. My bestie encouraged me to try CrossFit and it was the best decision.  A lot has happened over the last 11 years, but CrossFit and the community have kept me grounded and motivated to keep my health a priority. </li>

<li>Anything else you want to share? I not only enjoy doing CrossFit, but I love the sport of it. My favorite games athlete is Annie Thorisdottir, and I was able to meet her last year at the 2023 Rogue Invitational!

I have been a gym rat since my high school days, but when I started CrossFit in the summer of 2012, I finally found the results I always wanted to achieve. CrossFit has improved my mental strength and built muscles I never knew existed. With these new muscles, I was able to successfully hike the Grand Canyon in a single day, bike the Houston MS 150, and complete a Tough Mudder.</li>
