At 8:00 am we opened the doors to knock out the CrossFit Open Games WOD #1.  Quite a few Silverbacks came in early to show support for all the athletes stepping up to the challenge

The vibe was so electric that at at 9:00 am we kicked off a scaled version for the Saturday WOD complete with judges and coaches. Saturday lived up to and surpassed it’s usual description of always different and always fun.

Garret digging deep for an improvement of 30 something reps.

Such an effort comes at a price.

Cassie overcame bat sized butterflies in her stomach for a very respectable time.

Never, never, never look at the camera, I will always use the picture.

Zach also increased significantly over last week.

Almost against her will Val took on WOD #1 again. C'mon all the cool kids are doing it.

Broken collar bone, no excuses.

Jessica did not sign up for the games but posted an Rx WOD right at 5 rounds. Keep an eye on this one.

High standards and outrageous enthusiasm creates an environment of excellence.

    Now THAT was a great day! PR’d on the WOD by 3 for a final score of 215. Everyone doing the games WOD was an inspiration. Great job from everyone.

    What a great day at the box. So much energy and support. That’s about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on (well, in the case of some of us, only half our clothes). Strong performances all around but I was particularly impressed with Jessica and DJ. Excellent effort. My additional 8 reps bumped me up 30 in the Games’ ranking. Thanks for pushing this one on us (me), Matt.

    I would have to agree with y’all. The encouragement was amazing today. Thank you to everybody coming out to support us. I jumped up 158 spots in our region from last week. I would have to say thats an improvement. Thank you again to everybody.

    Days like this just make me so proud to be a Silverback!!

    I wasn’t even there. I was off teaching little girls about Germany and trying to convince them to try sauerkraut! I was probably more successful in that effort than I would have been at this WOD.

    Great job guys. Can’t wait to see what the next games WOD will be!!
