GET READY, 9:00am   We kick off the WOD and tomorrow is going to be a little different and a whole lot of fun.  This is also a great opportunity to come out and get introduced to the Silverback Nation and our way of working out.  You will never climb on an elliptical machine again.

  1. Sunday Endurance WOD: 40 min Time Trial (run)

Plenty of sleep for once. Must have been the LSU/’Bama game. Anyway. I managed 5.2 miles in the 40 min cruise around the neighborhood (about a mile of PR from a few years ago). That was my longest run since banging up the ole knee back in May. Things are tight and sore but the knee is good. The pace is a work in progress. So far I haven’t sacrificed too much in the strength department. The next month or so should be interesting as the volume increases.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been managing 4 or 5 WODs at the box, home or on the road and 2 or 3 runs a week. The endurance programming really doesn’t call for any “easy” days of running. Almost everything is fast intervals, tempo intervals, hill intervals or time trials. So far I’m loving it. I do think that as become acclimated to the programming every once in a while I will have a day where I just go for a run and not put any thought into it, but for now I’m cool with it.

Once I’m back to having weekends off again I plan on going up to the Woodlands for a free 5K they have a couple of times a month. If anyone is interested in tagging along (no tshirts, ribbons or entry fee) just let me know and we can coordinate.

Goal for the week is Double Under efficiency. Joe and Co, I need all the help I can get.
