For most of my life I didn’t play sports, I wasn’t on any teams or squads, I didn’t even have a workout routine. I joined a globo-gym around 23, but I rarely went and didn’t really have any focus when I was there. When my brothers suggested I try CrossFit I thought they were NUTS…there was no way I was going to be able to go from zero to the intensity of CrossFit…especially after 27 years of doing nothing! After months of saying no, I finally took a chance and started at the bottom. Without even realizing it, I got hooked and started to actually enjoy working out. 18 months in the box brought strength and confidence in myself and my abilities. My body showed changes, which is inevitable with the increase in activity, but I didn’t see dramatic differences until I cleaned up my diet. I started eating paleo about 6 months ago and the inches began to melt away. I don’t pay too much attention to the scale because the numbers aren’t what’s important, it’s about looking and feeling your best…and I certainly feel pretty dang good about the progress I’ve made!! I do know that I’ve gone from a tight size 9 (pushing 11) pants down to a belted 2!! Huge thanks to all the trainers of CrossFit Silverback and the other amazing athletes of the Silverback nation!!
