- Favorite movement? My favorite movement is the Snatch because it is highly technical and requires precision, mobility, and full body engagement.
- Hobbies or what do you enjoy outside of CrossFit? Outside of CrossFit, I train to compete in Olympic Weightlifting and currently training to compete in The Tactical Games with one of our CrossFit Silverback athletes. I have played soccer most of my life and love to go cheer on my nephew on the weekends. Really, I love to do anything outside and accept new challenges.
- Favorite cheat food? Favorite cheat food has to be PIZZA (gluten free…of course!) After developing a wheat allergy, my options became extremely limited, but where there is a will… there is a way! And now I have an outdoor pizza oven!
- How long have you been doing CrossFit and how it has changed your life? I started CrossFit after completing a preliminary fire academy PT test and felt like I had just gone ten rounds, although I was a marathon runner and lifted bodybuilding movements quite regularly. To get better at “real life” agility, I started CrossFit in 2016, and it took my fitness to a whole new level. I put on 30+ lbs. of muscle (with a little pizza mixed in there) and am overall stronger than I’ve ever been. And it is a strength that persists through the ebbs and flows of life. Lastly, I can say the full body strength and mobility I gained through CrossFit and Oly were THE reasons I escaped a motorcycle crash at 40 mph with only a concussion and minor shoulder tear treated through physical therapy. The doctor was impressed!
